Engineering
Engineering is where cost savings and part improvements begin at
Microplastics. Our engineers help you explore effective ways to
take advantage of the insert molding process when designing your
part. They might, for example, help you eliminate numerous terminations
in a circuitry design by recommending the overmolding and perforation
of a single, stamped insert. They also offer materials expertise
in a wide range of thermoplastics that address diverse mechanical,
environmental and dielectric requirements.
A Microplastics product design engineer works with you to establish
a draft of the part with proper gate locations and parting lines.
A model is then given to the tooling engineer, who designs the mold.
Our state-of-the-art 3-D and CAD tools help accelerate the design
process, while our experimental tooling and Design of Experiments
practices help deliver optimum manufacturability.
