| Company Profile
Microplastics was incorporated in 1989 by founders Jim Dilbeck and Mike Roberts. In 2000 Mike Roberts became the sole proprietor of Microplastics. In the fall of 2007 Microplastics proudly became an ESOP (Employee Owned Organization). Mike Roberts remains actively involved in the engineering function of the organization.
Microplastics currently operates within a 50,000 square foot facility in St. Charles, IL, 30 miles west of Chicago. The site includes 7 acres of land that will support expansion of the operation to 110,000 square feet. Advanced injection molding machines produce thousands of insert molded components three shifts a day. Microplastics has used state-of-the-art automation in our processes in order to provide our customers with the most competitive and reliable solutions. The facility houses a full-service Toolroom with advanced CNC and EDM capabilities. Every day our engineering team assists customers in developing products using the latest solid modeling tools and rapid prototyping techniques in the industry.
We control the entire process in-house, from engineering and tooling through molding and assembly. Our program management team guides each project from design and development through part approval and production. Bringing a project in on time, within budget, is a strength we possess.
